DR Congo Launches Probe Into Goma Explosion: Government

The DRC government has launched a judicial inquiry into the Goma explosion that killed French UNICEF staffer Karine Buisiset and two others, aiming to establish the circumstances and assign responsibility, the Ministry of Communication announced.

The incident occurred on Wednesday in the rebel-controlled city of Goma in eastern DRC amid the ongoing armed conflict involving the Congolese armed forces and rebel groups. The M23 movement accused the Congolese government of conducting a drone attack, which the DRC denied, denouncing the strike as an unacceptable escalation.

The government of DRC has called for full cooperation from French authorities, the UN, and other international bodies to ensure a complete, impartial, and transparent investigation.
