Thailand Ready to Purchase Oil From Russia: Government
The Asian country will begin talks with Russia on crude oil purchases following the US decision to suspend its boycott of Russian oil exports, according to Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn.
"The negotiations will be initiated by the Thai Ministry of Energy," he said at a briefing on the situation in the Middle East.
Due to the hostilities in the Middle East, oil supplies to Thailand from the Persian Gulf, which usually account for about 50% of all oil supplies to the country, are under threat, Ratchakitprakarn stated.
