Minority Demands Urgent Briefing on Ghana’s Alleged Role in US Airstrikes in Nigeria

Ghana’s opposition and parliamentary minority are calling for an urgent briefing on the legal basis of the country’s alleged collaboration with the US in airstrikes against terrorist targets in Nigeria.

This follows comments from Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa at Chatham House, where he reportedly confirmed Ghana’s involvement.

Samuel Abu Jinapor, Ranking Member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, stressed that any foreign military action must be approved by parliament.

He called for an immediate briefing on the legal framework and circumstances surrounding the Mahama administration's involvement.

Watch the video from our correspondent in Ghana, Nimatu Yakubu Atouyese, to learn the three key questions raised by the minority.
