Madagascar's President Dissolves Government
President of Madagascar Michael Randrianirina has dismissed the prime minister, parliament and the entire cabinet, according to an official statement. The ministries' heads duties are temporarily transferred to their secretary-generals.
"The president will shortly proceed with the appointment of a new prime minister, following the procedures set out by the constitution," Harry Laurent Rahajason, the president's spokesperson, said.
Michael Randrianirina came to power in October 2025 following mass protests. He seized control of the country and became president of the transitional period.
