Kenya Meat Exporters Face Massive $7.3 Mln Losses Amid Iran-Israel Conflict

Over 200 tonnes of beef and goat meat destined for the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Kuwait are currently stranded in cold storage facilities across the country.

Logistics have worsened as flight cancellations and diversions force aircraft back to Kenya, while limited cargo capacity has significantly inflated freight charges, Nicholus Ngahu, CEO of the Kenya Meat and Livestock Exporters Industry Council, said.

Jaware JM, CEO of the Tripple the Impact Centre of Governance and Public Engagement, said if the conflict continues, Kenya could suffer significant economic consequences.

"We are likely to see a ripple effect across several sectors of the economy if the war persists," Jaware told Sputnik Africa.
