Ghanaian Government Files Formal UN Protest Following Attack on Soldiers in Lebanon

Ghana's UN peacekeeping battalion headquarters in Lebanon was struck by missile attacks on Friday; two soldiers were injured, Ghana's Armed Forces reported.

"We are demanding full, immediate, impartial, and transparent investigations into the attack, which violates international law and amounts to a war crime," Ghana's Foreign Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa stated.

Lebanon has been recently drawn into the wider Middle East conflict. Hezbollah fired rockets at Israel as a response to the latter's attack against Iran. This triggered a fresh Israeli offensive against the Lebanese group.
