Côte d'Ivoire Bets $75 Million on Turning Youth Bulge Into Growth Engine: UNFPA
The new Côte d'Ivoire-UNFPA program targets improved maternal health, expanded family planning access, prevention of gender-based violence, empowerment of women and youth, and better integration of demographic dynamics into public policy, according to the UNFPA.
The agreement was signed by Minister Souleymane Diarrassouba and UNFPA’s regional representative Saidou Kabore.
Côte d'Ivoire's population—nearly 30 million and growing at 2.9% annually—is projected to reach 36.5 million by 2030.
