Necsa-Rosatom Partnership to Create New Nuclear Opportunities for South African Youth: Group Executive
The signing of the memorandum of understanding between South African Nuclear Energy Corporation (Necsa) and the Rosatom Corporate Academy marks a new step in strengthening the long-standing cooperation between the two organizations, Sithembile Mbuyisa told Sputnik Africa.
South African specialists are already benefiting from training opportunities and university programs linked to Rosatom’s global network, she added.
“And they have brought back the skills into the country.”
Necsa runs programmers' throughout the year to support partner schools, noting that these initiatives are not limited to students but also assist teachers, particularly those teaching mathematics and science, Mbuyisa explained.
Moreover, this cooperation is part of broader efforts to build nuclear expertise in the country while supporting South Africa’s long-term energy goals and the development of its clean energy sector.
