Mahama's AU Chair Nomination and Ghana's Economic Revival Face Backlash From Cocoa Farmers
President John Mahama's unopposed nomination for the African Union Chairmanship in 2027 was announced during his State of the Nation Address on Friday, with Mahama expressing gratitude for the support from West African leaders.
At the same time, Ghana's Finance Minister, Cassiel Ato Forson, outlined the government’s focus for the 2027 budget on building a "new economy" with an emphasis on job creation and business growth.
