Russia’s Baikal Plane Takes First Flight With New Homegrown Engine: Ministry

The upgraded prototype of the LMS-901 Baikal light aircraft has successfully completed a 10-minute test flight, reaching an altitude of 300 meters and a speed of 190 km/h, Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia announced.

Designed for regional routes, the aircraft is intended to replace a long-serving Soviet-era plane.
