Ethiopia Plans to Build 1,452 Pre-Primary Schools Across Country in Next Six Months: Education Ministry
Half of the planned schools will be built directly by the federal ministry, while the remaining will be constructed by regional states, according to the ministry. Inaccessible areas and priority districts have been identified for the construction.
Although over 34,000 schools have previously been built and are currently operational, they have not sufficiently closed the gap, leaving many children out of school, the ministry stated.
A standardized school design has been developed, with allowances for minor modifications based on local conditions. The design aims to inspire creativity and contribute positively to children's holistic development.
