Niger Validates AES Second-Year Roadmap
The draft, which covers three core pillars: defence and security, diplomacy, and development, was approved following a meeting of the National Committee of the AES in Niamey, Prime Minister Ali Mahamane Zeine announced.
"We provided the necessary guidance, validated certain proposals, made corrections and formulated additional suggestions, including reformulations where necessary," Zeine said.
The draft was transmitted by Burkina Faso, which holds the AES rotating presidency this year.
From February 24 to 26, senior officials and ministers of the AES are set to meet in Burkina Faso to examine Mali's proposals, after which a consolidated roadmap will be presented to the Council of Heads of State for final validation.
