Zambia and Mozambique Commission Cross-Border Fiber-Optic Link at Chanida–Cassacatiza Border

Zambia is now digitally linked to eight neighbors across the region, Zambian Minister of Technology and Science Felix Mutati said.

"I may just boast that we have become the most digitally connected country within Southern Africa," he added.

Digital infrastructure is as critical as roads, energy and railways, particularly for delivering social cash transfer systems and e-government services in rural areas, Mutati noted.

The link will bring tangible benefits to citizens on both sides of the border, reflecting the strength of bilateral ties between the two nations, Mozambique's Minister of Communications and Digital Transformation Américo Muchanga stressed.
