DRC's Gécamines to Boost Copper and Cobalt Sales With Two New Signed Accords
The deals concern the Kamoto Copper Company, in which DRC state mining group Gécamines holds a 30% stake, allowing it to sell its production share directly and target 300,000 tonnes of copper per year, the Swiss mining company Glencore noted.
Gécamines will also retain rights over all ore reserves extracted from the leased land, it said.
DRC's copper production reached 3.5 million tonnes in 2025, placing the country second in the world for the indicator, behind Chile.
