Ghana's Flagship Economic Transformation Policy Gets Green Light With Signed Bill
The new 24-Hour Economy Authority will be established to coordinate the 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development Programme, bringing together public and private sector actors and overseeing infrastructure and regulatory requirements needed for its rollout, Ghana’s Presidency said.
“Now we must move from strategy to implementation. The business sector is waiting, Ghanaian investors are waiting, foreign investors are waiting”, President John Dramani Mahama stated at the signing ceremony.
The policy seeks to modernize Ghana's economy by expanding labor market inclusion and attracting greater foreign direct investment, the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness & Industry noted.
"They want to see the package of incentives that we can afford, so that they can invest more and expand productivity and also create more employment for our young people, and so it's my pleasure to assent to this Bill today," Mahama added.
