Zimbabwe Bets on National 'Made in Zim' Branding to Boost Export Competitiveness, President Says
Branding and labelling are not cosmetic additions but instruments that embody quality, standards compliance, and national identity, Emmerson Mnangagwa stated.
"Our country's processed foods, beverages, engineering products, pharmaceuticals, steel and manufactured goods should carry the 'Made in Zimbabwe' insignia into all markets," the president said.
Businesses should align their export strategies with emerging opportunities across Africa and the Global South, he added, warning that shifting global dynamics require agility and forward-thinking from Zimbabwean producers.
"All hands must be on deck for us to meet our targets," Mnangagwa stressed.
The initiative emerges as Zimbabwe accelerates industrialisation, beneficiation, and value addition across key economic sectors, following the Vision 2030 development agenda.
