Zimbabwean Former President's Son to Appear in Court on Attempted Murder Charges

Chatunga Mugabe, son of the late Robert Mugabe, and an accomplice are set to appear at the Alexandra Magistrate Court in Johannesburg on charges of attempted murder following a shooting at the Mugabe residence.

‍ The men, initially questioned, have now been formally arrested, the South African Police Service in Gauteng stated. Police reported that a 23-year-old man was shot and critically injured during the incident.

Spent cartridges were recovered from the scene, but the firearm used in the shooting has not yet been found.

The victim, an employee at the residence, was hospitalized, and the motive remains unclear.
