'You Can Be Physiotherapist and Also Still Be Soldier': SA Military Health Services Major
South Africa marks Armed Forces Day on February 21 in Thohoyandou, Limpopo, with President Cyril Ramaphosa leading the commemorations.
The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) showcases its military strength as well as medical capabilities.
Some people are surprised to learn that medical professionals can serve as fully trained soldiers, SANDF Military Health Services Physiotherapist Major Nokwazi Zotho told Sputnik Africa.
"They [soldiers] go to the battlefield, and we go with them as the medical support, so should they encounter any injuries or any painful experiences, we are there as the support in all fields that we have in the SAMHS capability," he added.
