South African Military Health Service Offering Free Medical Outreach

As part of the South African National Defence Force’s Project Owethu in Limpopo, military doctors and ophthalmologists are performing eye screenings and cataract surgeries at Elim Hospital, restoring sight to patients with preventable blindness.

The initiative is part of a broader program offering healthcare, social support, and community services to underserved rural areas.

Ahead of Armed Forces Day, Project Owethu has transformed over 50,000 rural lives.
