Egypt Pours $4 Billion Into Oil Refinery Development
The country is channeling allocations into six refinery development projects to strengthen its domestic processing capacity, Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Karim Badawi stressed.
The initiative targets three core goals, he noted:
🟠boosting national refining capacity;
🟠increasing added value in the region;
🟠cutting fuel import costs.
The investment comes alongside sweeping reforms in Egypt's oil and gas sector over the past 18 months, the minister added.
Key changes include regularizing payments to exploration and production partners and introducing incentives to encourage local companies to increase domestic output.
