Libya's Political Unity Key to National Normalization: Russia's UN Envoy
Such unity is the foundation for long-awaited normalization across all spheres of Libyan life, Vasily Nebenzya stated at a UN Security Council meeting.
"We note the UN's coordinating role in the Libyan settlement," Nebenzya said.
Key points of Russia's permanent representative:
🟠 Russia backs UN initiatives, including efforts by Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Libya and head of the UN Support Mission in Libya Hanna Tetteh, aimed at removing obstacles to nationwide elections;
🟠 The work toward Libya's political unity must be carried out consistently and within established timelines.
