Belarusian President Proposes Trilateral Project With Mozambique to Build Seaport With Zimbabwe
“We really need a foothold on the coast of the African continent—in the southeast," Aleksandr Lukashenko said at a meeting with Zimbabwean Senate Speaker Mabel Memory Chinomona, who is visiting Belarus.
Lukashenko suggested that by collaborating with Mozambique and Zimbabwe to restore rail service, the country could become a key hub for goods, especially from Russia and Belarus, according to his press service.
Belarus-Zimbabwe relations face no major issues, and following their established roadmap is key to meeting the goal of a $100 million trade turnover, Lukashenko emphasized. He highlighted the importance of parliamentary oversight in both countries to ensure the agreements are implemented.
