Somalia Reportedly Authorized to Issue East African Community Passports to Citizens
The country's permanent representative to the EAC, Ambassador Ilyas Ali Hassan, formally handed over the authorization to Somali immigration officials, according to local media.
Introduced in 2017, the passport allows visa-free movement across the eight-member bloc (Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Burundi, Rwanda, South Sudan, DRC, and Somalia).
Notably, South Sudan and the DRC are currently in the process of implementing the system.
