AU Leaders to Discuss South Africa's Participation in G20 & UN Reform at Summit During the 39th session of the African Union Assembly, African leaders will: The report on the security situation in the Sahel will be heard in the absence of the leaders of Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso. These countries, along with Guinea-Bissau, Madagascar, and Sudan, were previously suspended. Apart from these six states, virtually all other countries are expected to be represented at the highest levels. The assembly session will discuss institutional reforms of the AU and its progress in conflict stabilization, economic integration, and sustainable development.

AU Leaders to Discuss South Africa's Participation in G20 & UN Reform at Summit
During the 39th session of the African Union Assembly, African leaders will:
appoint ten members to the African Union Peace and Security Council,
hear reports on the conflicts in Sudan and South Sudan,
hold a meeting of the African Union Committee of Ten Heads of State and Government on UN Security Council reform.
