Africa Has Resources and 'All Tools' to Compete on Global Stage, Rwanda’s Foreign Minister Says

In an interview with Sputnik Africa, Olivier Nduhungirehe highlighted Africa’s vast resources and young population, emphasizing that the continent is well-equipped to become a major economic power.

Nduhungirehe pointed to the African Continental Free Trade Area, signed in 2018, as a critical tool:

“We believe that we have the tools to boost the inter-African trade, to boost the industrialization of the continent,” he said on the sidelines of the 48th Ordinary Session of the AU Executive Council.

Regarding the International Criminal Court’s focus on African leaders, Nduhungirehe advocated for empowering the African Court of Justice and Human Rights to handle such cases internally, strengthening the continent’s ability to address its issues independently.
