Museveni's Visit to Tanzania Reflects Shift From Symbolic to Tangible Mutual Strategic & Economic Interest: Tanzanian Analyst

Tanzania and Uganda share a longstanding history and diplomatic ties, now solidified through targeted development and collaboration, Khalfan Salim Suleiman told Sputnik Africa.

The joint projects—especially in energy, infrastructure, and regional trade—serve as a strong indicator of deepening political relations and harmony, he added.

The partnership on the oil pipeline project, the speaker noted, will enhance the economies through greater competitiveness, more job opportunities, and higher sales volumes.

"[...] It will also reduce dependency on development partners, who are not always well aligned with us and are sometimes more interested in their own development rather than in ours," he added.
