The platform helps "reformat the new international order on a multipolar basis," which serves to "limit US hegemony," according to Ahmed Majdalani, Secretary-General of the Palestinian Popular Struggle Front.
"Today, as a result of the emerging imbalance in international equilibrium, a major opportunity arises not only at the military level but also at the economic level," he told Sputnik on the sidelines of the Valdai Discussion Club's 15th Middle East Conference in Moscow.
Majdalani highlighted Russia's resilience in the face of Western "encirclement" and sanctions and China's economic power, noting that BRICS countries "control over thirty percent of the world's production."
Arab states "could become a significant force" by actively participating in collective frameworks like BRICS, he argued.
However, the region is currently experiencing "internal fragmentation and polarization," which is exacerbated by foreign intervention, he warned.
