DRC: Kinsuka, Hydropower Project Costing $2.8 Billion
This power plant in Kinshasa is expected to be completed within the next five years, according to the Minister of Hydraulic Resources and Electricity, Aimé Sakombi Molendo, as reported by the media.
Key details about the project:
🟡Capacity: 7,450 GWh per year
🟡Objective: To address the structural electricity deficit in Kinshasa, a metropolis of nearly 15 million inhabitants that frequently experiences power outages.
The DRC also plans to finalize the energy-mining map, a strategic tool that overlays electrical infrastructure with mining zones in order to:
