Financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein once proposed introducing a new currency to former Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe, Sputnik’s review of documents released by the US Department of Justice revealed.

In a June 2015 email exchange with Japanese-American entrepreneur Joichi Ito, Epstein shared a link to a Guardian article about Zimbabwe’s plan to exchange quadrillions of Zimbabwean dollars for US dollars—and added his own pitch.
