Ugandan & Tanzania Review Progress in Joint Projects, Including Major Oil Pipeline: Museveni

Presidents Yoweri Museveni and Samia Suluhu Hassan have agreed to strengthen bilateral ties and accelerate joint projects during Museveni's visit to Tanzania, the Ugandan president stated on social media.

Key agreements include:

🟠 Accelerating the strategic East African Crude Oil Pipeline, which is reportedly 79% complete and on schedule for finalization in July 2026.

🟠 Upgrading transportation links across Lake Victoria and through the ports of Dar es Salaam and Tanga to improve trade efficiency.

🟠 Removing non-tariff barriers and improving the business environment within the East African Community.

🟠 Plans for new gas and refined oil pipelines that "will strengthen our shared energy security and position Tanzania as a key export corridor for Uganda."
