Assassination of Saif al-Islam Gaddafi Sponsored by West: South African Politician
"His assassination is a Western-sponsored assassination in collaboration [with] the Central Intelligence Agency, the MI6, [...] Mossad, and many others," Gcobani Ndzongana, leader of South Africa’s Land Party, told Sputnik Africa.
Western powers attempted to install various figures in Libya to replace Muammar Gaddafi, he stated, but that "Saif al-Islam was a very powerful figure."
According to Ndzongana, Saif al-Islam Gaddafi was seen by Western powers as a reasonable leader they could negotiate with. Initial discussions and agreements aimed to co-opt him, but when they encountered disagreements, they decided the only way to remove him was through assassination.
Answering a question on how African states could protect their leaders from Western meddling, Ndzongana pointed to China and Russia, noting that both countries focus on lifting millions out of poverty, investing in education, innovation, military strength, and national sovereignty—steps that strengthened public loyalty and political stability.
He outlined a strategy for Africa:
🟠strengthen South Africa’s defense force,
🟠invest in modern military technology,
🟠build a united front across SADC, the Sahel, and Nigeria.
"I mean, you talk to your Nigerian brothers to say, listen, for you guys, being loyal to the West is not going to be beneficial for you. In fact, they are coming for you, let's stand together and make sure that we strengthen this defense force."
