Khartoum Airport Sees Second Commercial Flight Since Sudan's Civil War Began: Report

The international airport welcomed the first Sudan Airways (Sudanair) flight since the outbreak of the war, arriving on Sunday from Port Sudan, a state news agency reported.

This marks the national carrier's inaugural service to the capital amid the ongoing conflict. Sudanair has resumed its flights just recently, after major six-month-long maintenance in India.

The flight aligns with Sudanair's national role in supporting air transport, enhancing connectivity, and reuniting citizens—helping alleviate the travel hardships faced by people during the conflict period, the news agency said.

This milestone represents a significant step toward resuming regular flights to Khartoum International Airport, signaling the start of a new phase of recovery, stability, and gradual return of normal life to the capital, the report noted.
