Zambia Partners With Chinese Investors to Boost Renewable Energy Output
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with energy and chemical conglomerate China Pingmei Shenma Holding Group and LONGi Green Energy Technology targets large-scale renewable energy projects, Zambia’s Ministry of Energy announced.
The MoU represents a key step for Zambia’s energy sector and its efforts to diversify energy sources, the ministry added.
According to Minister of Energy Makozo Chikote, the MoU will:
🟠boost electricity output through clean, sustainable means;
🟠support economic growth;
🟠create jobs;
🟠strengthen climate resilience.
The initiative highlights the enduring partnership and shared commitment of both nations to sustainable development, Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema stated.
