Somali Minister & MP Clash During Legislative Session on Constitutional Amendments: Media
Somalia's parliament was scheduled to begin debating amendments to the 2012 interim constitution. However, during the session, opposition members of parliament rose from their seats, began singing and shouting slogans, intending to disrupt the event, local media reported.
Security Minister Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail Fartag was captured on video exchanging blows with MP Hassan Firinbi.
The main amendments to the constitution include a transition to a direct voting system based on the principle of "one person - one vote" and strengthening of central authority.
