Sudan Prosecutes 122 Foreign Mercenaries Fighting With RSF, Recovers Child Soldiers: Authorities
Criminal cases have been opened against foreign mercenaries recruited by the RSF—some of whom have already been sentenced to death—and that 135 child recruits have been returned to their families, Sudan’s legal authorities announced.
The authorities accuse the RSF of recruiting mainly from Chad, South Sudan, Ethiopia, and Colombia.
Key findings from the committee include:
🟠At least 188,405 criminal cases documented since the conflict began in April 2023.
🟠Physical evidence showing UAE support for rebel forces, which the UAE has previously denied.
🟠Systematic sexual violence by the RSF, including against minors.
🟠Mass atrocities, including attacks targeting the Masalit tribe in El Geneina and a shelling of a kindergarten in Kadugli that killed 114 people, mostly women and children.
Separately, Port Sudan’s Anti-Terrorism Court began this week trying 201 defendants—including RSF commander Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo and former PM Abdalla Hamdok—for inciting war and undermining the constitution.
