Ethiopia to Expand Military Technology and Industry Cooperation With Belarus
The two countries have agreed on a framework for joint work in the military sector under a memorandum of understanding signed by Ethiopian Defense Minister Aisha Mohammed and her Belarusian counterpart Dmitry Pantus.
The agreement is aimed at advancing the country’s military technology and industrial capacity, supporting broader efforts to achieve self-reliance in the production of military equipment, according to the Ethiopian side.
The memorandum also provides a mechanism to implement the strategic partnership previously endorsed by the two countries’ leaders and to deepen bilateral ties.
The Belarusian defense minister said Ethiopia and Belarus are already cooperating on several projects, adding that the new framework opens opportunities for collaboration in additional and more diverse areas.
Separately, the Belarusian Air Force is set to stage an air show from Saturday as part of celebrations marking the 90th anniversary of the Ethiopian Air Force, with a Belarusian delegation also expected to attend.
