German FM Mistakes Nairobi for Addis Ababa in His Social Media Post

Johann Wadephul mistakenly labeled a photo of Nairobi as Addis Ababa in a social media post during his Africa trip, German media reported, attaching a screenshot.
First, he published a captioned shot reading: “Good afternoon from Ethiopia. Second stop today—Addis Ababa, Africa’s highest-altitude capital, 2,200–2,300 meters above sea level.”
Then, a city panorama [of the Kenyan capital] with the note: “We’ve had diplomatic relations for 120 years. The country is developing rapidly and has embarked on an impressive reform path.”
The error was quickly noticed—Nairobi’s distinctive Britam Tower is definitely not in Ethiopia’s capital.
Following public comments, the post was removed. The German Foreign Office confirmed the correction but did not comment on how the mix-up occurred.
