African Union Resumes Guinea's Membership Following Restoration of Constitutional Order: Commission"Guinea has reached a decisive milestone in its transition," the African Union Commission said. "Following the adoption of a new Constitution and the holding of presidential elections, the country has effectively returned to constitutional order." Therefore, AU Commission Chair Mahmoud Ali Youssouf urged the Peace and Security Council to lift the suspension of Guinea's participation in AU activities and proposed that the country resumes its participation without delay, according to the statement. On December 28, 2025, Guinea held its first presidential elections since the 2021 military coup.
