If Trump annexes Greenland, it will be a historic achievement, boosting US territory, strategic influence, and global competitiveness, foreign policy expert Levent Ersin Oralı told Sputnik.

According to the expert, Greenland is strategically important to the US along three key axes:
1. Energy and natural resources:
Rich in rare earth elements, oil, natural gas, and minerals, increasingly accessible due to melting glaciers.
