"The enemies of the US are not our enemies. [...] For America to interpret our multilateral and bilateral relations as a political assault toward them, it's mischievous, it's really irrational," he added.
The BRICS includes several major powers among its members—significant global players, Breakfast stressed.
The speaker also addressed how these exercises could shape future BRICS security cooperation beyond naval operations.
"It will be good because security has always been and still is a multi-dimensional construct with a multiplicity of functions," he noted.
