South Africa & China Call for Strengthening South-South Ties
On the sidelines of his African tour in Lesotho, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held a telephone conversation on Sunday with his South African counterpart, Ronald Lamola.
The agenda includes:
🟠Joint defense of multilateralism and opposition to hegemony;
🟠Strong support for South Africa's growing role on the international stage;
🟠Accelerating practical cooperation: implementation of China's zero-tariff treatment for Africa and exchanges between parties and between peoples;
🟠Success of the 2026 China-Africa People's Exchange Year.
China also reaffirmed its support for the African National Congress for South African national unity and revitalization.
