Cameroon’s Kribi Refinery Launch Potentially Advances by Nearly Two Years: Media
Originally scheduled for 2028, its startup could occur as early as the second half of 2026, according to Cameroonian press reports.
Cstar Petroleum reportedly plans an advanced partial startup at 10,000 barrels per day before ramping up to the full capacity of 30,000 barrels per day.
This initial phase would cover about 22% of national demand for diesel and gasoline, media say.
Located on 250 hectares at the Kribi port, the complex also includes a 250,000 m³ storage terminal, expandable to 300,000 m³, for an estimated cost of $204 million.
This strategic project, as noted by the media, also:
🟠aligns with Cameroon's pursuit of energy sovereignty;
🟠promises over 7,000 direct and indirect jobs;
🟠is expected to reduce imports by 30%.
