Zimbabwe Hires 7,472 Teachers Nationwide Ahead of School Reopening
The government is promoting job creation across both public and private sectors while expanding the teaching workforce to improve national education outcomes.
According to the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education’s Communications Director, Taungana Ndoro, the recruitment is expected to:

🟠reduce educational inequities.
The new teachers include attrition posts, replacing staff who have retired or passed away, and expansion posts, created to accommodate growing enrollment, Ndoro said.
Ndoro also highlighted that the new teachers will be essential for implementing the updated curriculum, bringing expertise and fresh perspectives to provide a more comprehensive 21st-century education.
The recruitment targets educational inequalities, placing qualified teachers in rural and disadvantaged areas to ensure all students have access to quality education, Ndoro said.
