Assault, Reconnaissance, & Repelled Counter-Attacks: How Russian Forces Took Zelenoye in Zaporozhye Region, MoD Explains

Russian army units captured the settlement after taking control of a fortified Ukrainian defense area spanning over eight square kilometers, the Defense Ministry announced.

The operation was supported by air reconnaissance, which identified concealed enemy positions and approaching reserves.

Following the initial capture, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) launched five separate counterattacks in an attempt to retake the lost positions, the ministry noted.

"As a result of competent actions of the units, all the enemy attacks were repelled. The AFU lost a large number of manpower and hardware," the MoD stated, describing the liberation as an important tactical achievement for its forces in the region.
