Ethiopian PM Abiy Receives Chinese Foreign Minister at the National Palace, Says Office
Wang Yi's two-day official visit is expected to include discussions on areas of mutual interest in bilateral relations and regional issues, as announced by the Ethiopian prime minister's office.
The Chinese top diplomat commenced his New Year diplomatic visit to Africa on Wednesday, with scheduled stops in Ethiopia, Somalia, Tanzania, and Lesotho, according to the Chinese foreign ministry.
Africa has remained the destination for the Chinese FM's first overseas trip of the year for 36 consecutive years.
Wang will attend the launching ceremony for the China-Africa "year of people-to-people exchanges" at the African Union headquarters in Addis Ababa.
