ANC at 114: Renewal, Reflection, & Reaffirmed Commitment to SA’s People, Party Says
“The ANC was never built for comfort, but for struggle; never for power, but for service. The road ahead demands courage, honesty, and collective effort,” South Africa’s party said in a statement as it turned 114 on Thursday.
The African National Congress—Africa’s oldest liberation movement—embraced this milestone with humility and resolve, stating that:
▪Renewal is action, not slogan; it requires ethical leadership, organizational discipline, and improved daily lives for citizens.
▪Internal revival should take place through stronger accountability, cadre renewal, and reconnection with communities through deeds, not words.
▪The party is the only movement capable of uniting South Africans across race, class, gender, and generation.
▪It stands for national sovereignty and a peaceful, multilateral world order—calling for global solidarity amid rising tensions.
▪President Cyril Ramaphosa will unveil the ANC’s 2026 priorities on January 10.
