Côte d’Ivoire's President Dissolves Government After Legislative Elections: Decree
President Alassane Ouattara dissolved the government led by Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé on Wednesday, following the December 27, 2025 legislative elections, in which several ministers were elected as MPs, according to the presidency.
Under Ivorian constitutional rules, ministers cannot hold parliamentary seats—prompting the government’s resignation, which the president accepted.
Until a new prime minister and cabinet are appointed, outgoing ministers will handle day-to-day affairs.
The parliamentary session resumes on January 19, 2026, with the election of a new speaker—marking the start of a new political cycle.
