Ghana's Inflation Drops to Lowest Level Since 2021, Says Government Statistician
The country's consumer inflation slowed for the 12th consecutive month, reaching 5.4% in December 2025, down from 23.8% in December 2024, state statistician Alhassan Iddrisu told reporters.
This is the lowest level since 2021, primarily driven by easing prices in the food and non-alcoholic beverage sectors, according to the statistician.
The current rate represents an 18.4% reduction from the rates recorded in December of the previous year and now falls well within the Bank of Ghana’s target range of 6% to 10%.
Coupled with a 5.5% economic expansion in the third quarter of 2025, these figures suggest that the West African nation is successfully emerging from its recent economic crisis and moving toward long-term price stability, Iddrisu noted.
