Winter Wonderland Through African Eyes: Students Discover St. Petersburg

Students from The Gambia, Ghana, and Nigeria explored the snow-covered heart of Russia’s northern capital as part of the “Russian Cities for African Students” initiative by the Center for People’s Diplomacy.

Led by a professional guide, their journey took them past St. Isaac’s Cathedral, Palace Square, the Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood, and Kazan Cathedral—before continuing down Nevsky Prospekt, bright with winter decorations and fresh snow, the center noted.

The day ended the cozy Russian way: with warm, freshly fried pyshki doughnuts—many students’ sweetest new discovery of the country.
