US Seizes Russia's Marinera Oil Tanker in North Atlantic for Alleged 'Violations of US Sanctions,' US European Command Says
"This seizure supports the US president's proclamation targeting sanctioned vessels that threaten the security and stability of the Western Hemisphere," the US European Command said.
Earlier this week, the Russian Foreign Ministry said it was closely monitoring the abnormal situation around the Russian-flagged oil tanker Marinera, which was in international North Atlantic waters and fully compliant with maritime law.
Russian oil tanker Marinera was previously known as Bella 1.
